Here you go Rob & Julie!! More to come:)

I went to Kaylee’s house while I was in Atlanta to take her newborn/family pictures. I was supposed to come a week earlier but had to postpone my trip due to my children being sick. In the meantime, Kaylee was born…on 8-8-08! As many of you know, the number 8 is considered to be a very lucky number in Chinese culture. If 8 really is lucky, this is one VERY lucky family because all of their birthdays are on the 8th day of their birth month…even their cat!!
I had such a great time photographing this family. Mike and Rachel have such a genuine love for each other and I am absolutely certain that love will be shared with Kaylee…to the cat’s dismay. LOL Thank you for your patience Rachel and Mike and Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy… she is a beauty:)
(Kaylee’s grandmother bought her that huge pig…isn’t it awesome. I wanted to take it home with me. Kaylee has lots of pigs in her room…so I took lots of pictures of her piggies.)
I think this may be my favorite picture from the entire shoot. So sweet!
I will call this one…pigs on pig.
This rocking chair used to belong to Rachel’s grandmother.
These shoes were Rachel’s when she was a baby. I love that Rachel’s mom saved all of these things for when Rachel had children.
A little smile from Kaylee:)
Kaylee’s grandma also bought Kaylee her first baseball/softball glove:)
I wanted to do something special for Kaylee’s birthday - so I made her a shirt:) I was born on 8-8-08 and all I got was this lousy shirt!
Sorry for all of the sneak peeks but it is the easiest way to get a picture or two up while I am working on a full post. I will have a full post tomorrow- the Curran family. I just wanted to post this cute picture from Saturday morning. More to come! For everyone waiting on pictures thank you for your patience…I was able to get caught up a little over the weekend:)
I woke up VERY early Saturday morning to head over to Addison’s house in Atlanta to take her 1 year pictures, while she was in a good mood. While she was in a good mood for most of the shoot we did hit a few rough patches…it was pretty hot outside and we started to enter lunch and nap time…so by the time we wrapped things up she was definitely over me having the camera in her face:)
Each time I go on a shoot I learn at least 1 new thing…my lesson this time…do not ever try to pose a 1 year old. They don’t like sitting still and they don’t like being told what to do. You would think I would know this after having 3 children of my own. LOL
Enjoy and Happy Birthday Addison!
Getting dressed with mom.
Making a run for it…this chick did not want to get dressed.
Playing with texture. Becky requested a picture of the 3 of them walking from behind:)
A flower from daddy, how sweet:)
It was impossible mission trying to get her to look right at me..finally got it…but she is giving me the stone face. No love for Jessi. LOL
Addison started rubbing her eyes at this point…so we figured it was nap time. Not so much. The next few pictures were taken after we returned to her home to get her ready for a nap.
She doesn’t look very tired to me either!
Addison read some books, played peek a boo and then dressed up for me:)
She also opened her new baby doll- “Hi, baby nice to meet you. My name is Addison and I love you…
but now I must eat your face. HA!
Snuggle time with mom and the new baby doll.
This is how we wrapped things up…with a big smile for dad:) Thank you Becky & James for asking me to take Addison’s 1 year pictures, I had a great time hanging out with both of you…and of course with Addison too:)
I am much farther behind than I thought I would be. Although, I think I may have set my goals a little too high…3 baby shoots blogged within 1 week of taking the pictures with 3 kids and a full time job was just not a realistic goal:( So, in order to keep my word that I would have pictures posted by the end of the week, I will do back to back mini blogs of Maya and Kaylee. I still have alot of pictures of both girls to finish up but wanted to give an extended sneak peek of their pictures:) Rachel, Mike, Pam & Dev – thank you for your patience!
I promise to post something soon. I am still working on all of the pictures I took last weekend…there were ALOT!! Hopefully I will have something up by tomorrow afternoon:) Stay tuned!
I went to Atlanta this weekend to photograph 3 beautiful little girls. Kaylee was born on the 8th, Addison just turned 1 on the 9th, and Maya was born on the 13th. Kaylee was due on the 9th but was born a day early. Maya was due in September but was born 3 weeks early! I was supposed to go to Atlanta last weekend to take Addison’s 1 year pictures but decided to stay home since my children were sick. I was upset that I missed Addison’s birthday but in the meantime, Kaylee and Maya were born, so I was able to get shots of all three of them in the same weekend. So it all worked out in the end. A big Congratulations to Rachel, Mike, Pam & Dev on the birth of your little girls and a big Happy Birthday to Addison!!
Haley was our rain bride. She volunteered to stand out in the rain… in a wedding dress. Almost every car that drove by slowed down to see what we were doing. LOL Thank you so much for coming Haley and especially for modeling:)
Here are the rest of Wombat’s pictures. This is the first time I have done maternity pictures, so I was a little nervous but Bat went along with almost everything I wanted to do and I think we got some great pictures:) After my visit to Southern Illinois, I realized just how much of a city girl I am. I asked Bat to stand in a field of tall grass and she told me no way…there could be ticks and snakes in the tall grass. So I said okay how about getting in some water, like a pond…she told me there were water moccasins in the ponds…so I didn’t get a few of the pictures I had planned in my head but it is probably for the best…a few lives were spared. LOL Thanks Bat for being my guinea pig! I am so glad we got to hang out for the weekend, even if that meant gambling at the Peach Festival (I will post that later).
I love this picture…what is she hiding behind that grin. Hmmmm.
When we were leaving the house, Bat’s grandmother looked at her and shook her head. Bat asked why she was shaking her head and she said, I just don’t know about this…moving her hand in a circular motion near Bat’s belly. Bat said, you don’t know about what, me being pregnant? And Grandma said, no this outfit. When we were pregnant we used to try to hide that. LOL I wish I had heard that conversation, Bat told it to me in the car. Her grandmother is 95 and still sharp as a tack and funny. Love that woman!
I love my new 16-35mm lens…thank you dearest husband for the birthday gift! (This picture was taken with that lens)
I shot this picture through the cracks in the door of a nearby cabin:)
We had perfect timing on this picture. We passed by this sign the following day and they had changed it out. LOL The Peach Festival was the biggest news story that weekend.
We were on our way to the next location and I saw this chair out of the corner of my eye. It was just sitting on the side of the road…like it was waiting for me to find it. I slammed on the brakes and started driving in reverse to get back to it. Bat thought I was insane. I told her on the way back to the chair that I found something cool and would understand if she didn’t want to do it but I explained that she was going to do it anyway…after a moment of hesitation she walked through the grass and sat in this super cool chair on the side of the road. LOL She only had 3 or 4 ticks land on her while we were shooting…sometimes you have to suffer for art:)
Bat had so many cool locations for us to shoot, the next few pictures were taken in the barn at her dad’s house.
Since she wasn’t willing to stand in the tall grass like I wanted her to…I made her stand in a field of soy beans. Jessi 1, Wombat 0. Ha Ha!
Yet another reason I love this gal (awesome sense of humor)! Congrats on Baby #1…I can’t wait to meet him!!
