Old Friends

This past weekend, one of my oldest and best friends came to visit! I have known Lana forever and a day it seems (we used to share a patrol post in 5th grade). I love her like a sister and I am so thankful for her friendship. No matter how long or short my trips are to MD, she finds a way to get to where I am so we can hang out… even if it is only for an hour. Thank you Lana Banana (sorry I had to!) for being such a great friend…I had such a great time with you this weekend!

Jen, Herb, Hallie & Pedro

While I was in Atlanta 2 weekends ago I got to photograph another new and terrific family! Jen, Herb, Hallie & Pedro live in a beautiful neighborhood in Roswell, so we just kind of walked around their subdivision looking for fun places to shoot. I think we were able to find quite a few! Pam, Dev, Maya & Roxy

Two weekends ago, I traveled to my new home away from home… Atlanta. I always love going to Atlanta because I get to meet great new families and reconnect with old friends. I have known Pam since 7th grade; she and I both grew up in Maryland.  It doesn’t really matter where you are in the world, when you meet up with an old friend it always feels like you are home. Thank you Pam, Dev, Maya & Roxy dog for letting me be a part of your family when I come to town. You two are fantastic parents and the love you have for each other is unparalleled. Enjoy!

This is where Roxy spent most of her time the first night I got to Atlanta. We finally figured out that she could smell the animals crackers that were on the other side of the door. So we gave her a few and then moved them. haha

When babies attack!

My parents were in town this weekend to visit John and I and the kids. While they were here I was able to snap this funny picture of my dad and Reece. haha. Love you mom and dad…thanks for coming to visit!

Fall Fun

The other day our neighbors made a leaf pile and invited the kids over to share in the fun. Here are a few of the images I was able to capture.

Watching my kids do the things that I did as a child always takes me back and makes me temporarily forget how old I really am. I was half tempted to jump into that pile with them but then I remembered the last time I joined in on their fun…I had to get an MRI on my knee ( I get the results on Tuesday- Yay!). Instead, I decided to grab the camera and just watch from the sidelines.

I told the children to throw the leaves on me…big mistake! It made for some cute pictures but I had leaves stuck in my hair for days.

Reece was a little unsure of the leaf pile.

Cade was not quite as concerned. He gave that pile a Chuck Norris sized Kick!

Devon & James

Two weekends ago, I got to meet up with a very special couple for their anniversary session. Devon is our nanny and one of the very first people we met when we came back to Knoxville from Maryland. Devon has been invaluable to us not only as our nanny but also as a member of our family .  She has helped take care of us in sickness and in health, she has been our on call person when I was pregnant with Jocelyn and Reece and most importantly she brings joy to our household every single day that she comes over. My children absolutely adore her…as do John and I. We are so grateful to have her in our lives! I am so happy that she found someone with whom she can share her love of life! These two have such great chemistry and I really think it shows in these pictures. I had an awesome time on this shoot. Thank you for spending your afternoon with me Devon and James! Happy early Anniversary!

I have been waiting to do a jumping picture! As soon as I mentioned it James said, “Yes, I will do it”! This pictures makes me laugh. 

I had to include this picture. This is the look Devon often gives my kids and my husband. Very skeptical. hahaha.

Devon’s engagement ring is a pink sapphire…it is very pretty:)
