While I was home I got to spend some time with my nephew Joe. He is absolutely adorable and definitely full of energy! I took him out in my parent’s backyard for a little mini shoot…here are some of the images I captured. I call him Big Joe because he is not even 2 and a half yet and he is almost the same size as my 3 and a half year old daughter. His father (my brother) is 6’5, so I am sure Joe is going to be just as tall!

A few weeks ago, one of my external hard drives crashed. Luckily, I had most of the information on it backed up on disks…I was not so lucky this past week. While we were out of town for Christmas, my entire computer died (No clue what happened- I am guessing the Grinch stole it!) and I didn’t have anything on my hard drive backed up:( After spending a few days without a computer, I am finally back up and running…AND thanks to a few of our brilliant computer savvy friends, we were able to recover all of the information on my hard drive. Yippeee! Please learn from my most recent mistakes and back all of your information up on disks or an external hard drive. Stand by, I will be posting pictures from our trip home to MD soon!!

When I started planning our Christmas card picture this year I knew I wanted it to have a Naughty or Nice theme. After coming up with an idea, I had to figure out a way to get all 3 of my kids to cooperate…which was not easy. I knew exactly how I wanted the card to look but as many of you know, children often do not care about your plans ( this card was not my original idea). So, 12 lollipops, 3 bathroom breaks, a few scratches, countless tears and a few boogers later….here is the finished product! The title of this post is the message that was written on the inside. I really hope it made everyone smile! Happy Holidays!

This past weekend was alot of fun for me. I had a newborn shoot Saturday morning, followed by the Nutcracker on Ice (Saturday afternoon) and then Sunday I got to hang out with Knoxville photographer Bryan Allen . Bryan does alot of studio work, which is something I know very little about, so he invited me to join him for a fun little model shoot on Sunday afternoon. Saturday morning I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful newborn baby boy named Carson. He is just 3 weeks old but already has so much personality. He was very alert during most of the session and was very vocal about what he did and did not like… as you will see from the pictures in this post! Thank you Marcus and Nikki for welcoming me into your home for the morning and congratulations on your new bundle of joy!

This afternoon (same day blog- something must be wrong with me!) I was able to shoot the Nutcracker on Ice with my old photography teacher Tom Geisler. Tom has been shooting this event for many years and each year he allows his current and former students to come shoot along side him for practice. The show was fantastic. There were so many talented skaters and many of them were quite young. Here are a few (ok alot) of my favorites!

Ok so there wasn’t any crying – well maybe only from laughing too hard!This is Snookie (Sabrina is her real name), my very best friend from childhood. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without this girl in it. We have so many inside jokes that my husband says we speak our own language.
This past weekend she celebrated her 30th 21st birthday, with a very fun dinner party at Solas in North Carolina. I had an AWESOME time! Sabrina had a full day of beauty planned (hair, nails, etc.), so I decided to follow her around with my camera all day. Everyone kept asking if she was getting married, it was hilarious. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the night.
I won’t tell you what I said to get this reaction from her. Ha!
Ready for a night on the town! My kids think Bryan is Mr. Incredible. So I told them that is who I hung out with all weekend.

and the McLains, the Whaleys, etc. You may remember the Jones family from their shoot earlier this year.
We met up a few weeks ago to get a few pictures of the entire family and some individual family shots for Christmas cards…since it is that time of year:) I had such a great time with all of these families! Everyone had such a great sense of humor and they were all very cooperative…even the 2 dogs! Here are a few of my favorite shots:) Enjoy!
