Hello all!
I just wanted to let everyone know that my blog will probably be pretty slow this month as I just had knee surgery last Wednesday and will be taking most of this month off to recover. I hope to use this time off to get caught up on editing, get some new sample albums cooking and I am in the process of rebranding a little bit….so keep an eye out for a new logo and some changes to the blog. Thank you all for your well wishes while I heal. I can’t wait to get back out and start shooting again!

Quinn Peyser has done it once again… she created this beautiful piece of art that I get to hang in my house! This giant 24×36 canvas arrived today and I absolutely love it!
If you have not been to Quinn’s site you need to head over and check it out! Not only is she the world’s best doodler, she also does wedding invites, save the dates, and she draws trees for me (I kind of have a small obsession with trees). Thank you Quinn for this family tree picture!!! I cannot wait to hang it over the fireplace in our living room!

Most weekends we have a big breakfast on Sunday but this morning I had an eight am shoot, so we had to move our big breakfast up a day. Normally, the kids like to veg out and watch some tv while John and I cook but Saturday morning they all wanted to help…the kitchen was a disaster but the pancakes were delicious. Nothing like some chocolate smiley face pancakes to get you moving on a Saturday morning!!
Yes that is a Bisquick bag…I am a cheater! I have already admitted to being the world’s worst cook:)
Eggs! Reece tried to steal our egg. He grabbed it and took off running, I was afraid it was going to end up on the couch but we got it back to the kitchen safely!

This happens every weekend. Reece climbs up into Cade’s chair and tries to eat his food (this weekend he caught an elbow to the cheek)…
and then Cade taunts him with the food…
…and then Reece asks for a bite of mine.
And if all of that wasn’t enough to wake me up, I always have my hot cup of tea:) Look at that perfect steam swirl!!

Yes, hard for some to believe but I am headed out of town…again! I will be in Atlanta second shooting a wedding this weekend and will have limited access to the internet. A Day at the Beach

After a fun day in DC, we packed up the car and headed to Ocean City for a day of fun in the sun! Here are a few fun pictures from our day:) In my next life, I have decided that I need to learn how to surf!
This was Reece’s first trip to the beach. He took a few huge mouthfuls of sand and then decided that was enough. haha
After the beach, we headed to the boardwalk to get some lunch, play games and go on the rides!

Feel the flutter…

Wednesday afternoon, the kids and I headed to DC to visit the Museum of Natural History. The kids have been to this museum before but we were unable to see the entire museum last time, so we headed back to finish our tour. Here are a few of the pictures I grabbed in the live Butterfly Pavilion.

Reece had a meltdown after we left the butterfly exhibit, so I did what every mother in the running for mother of the year would do…I bribed him with candy. The only lollipop in the building was $4 and contained a scorpion…he seemed to like it so I let him eat it. He has now eaten marbles, a lollipop with a scorpion in it and later in the week we will tackle sand from the beach:)
